David Edelblute is a litigation associate in the Las Vegas office of Newmeyer & Dillion LLP focusing his practice in the areas of Construction, Real Estate, and Business Litigation. He represents clients for complex commercial litigation matters including contracts, business torts, labor & employment, and real estate.

David’s success originates from his wide-ranging experience assisting clients on a range of litigation and transactional matters. His varied practice, coupled with his prior experiences working in consulting and government affairs, allows him to tailor representation for clients to fit their needs while providing a comprehensive approach to each matter.

David’s legal background includes:

Personal insight into the judicial system. During law school, David served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Lloyd D. George, senior judge, of the United States District Court District of Nevada, in Las Vegas, Nevada. David’s experience helps bring an intimate knowledge of legal procedure to his litigation practice.

Award winning written and oral advocacy. David developed strong written and oral advocacy skills through extensive experience in a variety of competitions. David acquired the skills necessary to effectively advocate for his clients in any legal setting through his experiences winning best oral advocate and best overall in the University of Wisconsin Law School Moot Court Competition to a Top Three Oral Advocate at the Tulane Mardi Gras Sports Law Invitational to representing his school at the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

Real World Success. David’s success extends into his legal practice. Some examples of his achievements are:
    -Acting as second chair in a federal jury trial where the plaintiff                claimed over $50 million in damages on constitutional claims,                resulting in a full defense verdict for his client.
    -Securing a favorable judgment on complex fraud-based claims in            excess of $2.5 milliom dollars.
    -Managing a set of cases for a client, resulting in one dismissed case        and the other resulting in favorable mediated terms for his client.
    -Participating in Nevada’s foreclosure mediation program to protect          a lender’s rights to reparation and continued repayment.
    -Acting as second chair to a state bench trial by managing expert              retention and reports, reviewing evidence for relevancy, and                    preparing witnesses for trial.

Real World Experience. David’s prior experience working in the United States House of Representatives and with MGM Resorts International allows him to provide a fresh approach to clients’ problems by being highly adaptable to novel matters.

David spends his free time with his family, while enjoying tennis, musical theater, and singing barbershop music.
